I do not recall seeing a single frozen yoghurt shop in the UK. Frozen yoghurt is essentially low fat, fat free, or sugar free soft serve ice-cream. In the last eighteen months, the Californian town in which I live has gained three new frozen yoghurt stores. One of them just across the freeway from our home and next to a Starbucks, another replacing a Starbucks, and the third has just opened in a location that is probably a vast half mile from a couple of Starbucks. This brings the total to at least four, with the only existing location that I know next to the city’s best burger joint – Monsoon.

I prefer my treats with all of the guilt and tend to eat homemade ice cream from the local farm or at Baskin-Robins.
