Breakfast in Texas

I stayed in a hotel in Irving, Texas last week. This is a pleasant, open suburb of Dallas. The hotel rate included breakfast, not always a given in the US. Breakfast was a help yourself affair. I had my regular meal of Raisin Bran and coffee. However, if I had been more adventurous, there were waffles. There was a dispenser of waffle mix and a waffle iron into one which poured the mix. This would be an unusual choice for breakfast in UK, but is common fare here in the US. What made this a little unusual was that the iron made waffles shaped like the state of Texas. Although I suppose square waffles would share the same trait in Colorado.

This is the first time that I have waffled about waffles.
