In the last few days, I have a couple more signs that indicate that the rising cost of gas has having an impact on the way that Americans think. Driving my wife to the airport I saw a sign advertising a local casino. It stated that it was 15 gallons closer than Reno. Rather than emphasize the shorter travel time, the saving in fuel was the selling point. I also saw an overhead sign that said “Don’t Speed. Save Lives. Save Gas”; obviously the appeal to drivers’ better nature has failed to slow them down, so self interest has been added.
The Cost of Gas

My commute is over two hours (RT) each day. What I have noticed is that the freeways move better (60mph instead of 25mph) and I have seen fewer accidents since the price of gas went up. It seems people are minimizing unnecessary driving and some of the old, junky cars are off the roads.
Whatever next? Hell to freeze over?
I keep thinking about buying this SUV and it keeps screaming… but the gas the gas!!! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Seriously.. the brit in me is showing here… I can’t take it. When we talk about a V8 I just lose the plot completely!
