This cartoon from Salon appealed to me as a Doctor Who fan; especially as it is from a US source. Doctor Who is so much part of British popular culture that it is regularly referenced in cartoons, in newspaper stories, and by estate agents who will describe a house that is larger than it appears as TARDIS like. In the US mainstream media, apart from The Simpsons, I do not think that Dr. Who references are common.
